Medarot 4: Kabuto Version is a 2001 role-playing game released for the Game Boy Color in Japan. As the fourth mainline installment in the popular robot-battling series, players collect, customize, and battle with their Medarots using the Kabuto (rhinoceros beetle) series of parts. The game builds upon the franchise’s signature 3v3 relay battles and deep customization mechanics, offering a massive roster of parts and medals to collect.
How to Play
Your goal is to become the ultimate Medafighter by defeating opponents, winning new parts, and assembling the strongest possible team. Battles are turn-based and rely on a relay system where your robots race to the center line to execute actions. In the browser, the Game Boy Color controls are mapped to your keyboard: use the arrow keys for the D-pad, Z and X for the A and B buttons, and Enter and Shift for Start and Select.
Tips
- Speed is critical in the relay battle system; equipping leg parts with high mobility allows your Medarots to attack more frequently than your opponent.
- Focus your attacks on the opposing team’s leader. Destroying the leader’s head part instantly wins the match, even if the other enemy Medarots are fully intact.
