Master Chu and the Drunkard Hu is an unlicensed action platformer released for the NES in 1989 by Color Dreams. Set in ancient China, the game follows two warrior magicians as they fight to lift a curse cast upon their village by the god Shiva. The game features ten side-scrolling rounds, and despite its reputation for awkward controls, it stands out for offering a simultaneous two-player cooperative mode where both title characters are playable.
How to Play
In the first seven rounds, your primary objective is to locate and collect eight yin-yang symbols hidden throughout the stage to unlock the path to the boss. Notably, this game uses the D-pad to jump rather than a face button.
- Arrow Keys: Move (Press Up to jump and Down to crouch)
- Z / X: Attack and use items (A/B buttons)
- Enter: Start
- Shift: Select
Tips
- Take time to adjust to pressing Up to jump, as it can easily lead to accidental leaps when trying to maneuver on narrow platforms.
- Keep an eye out for hidden areas in the scenery, as the required yin-yang symbols are often tucked away in non-obvious spots.
