Game description:

Major League is an 8-bit baseball game originally released in Japan for the Famicom (NES) in 1989. As one of the classic sports titles of the era, it delivers straightforward, accessible gameplay that lets you pitch, bat, and field your way through full matches. Whether you’re aiming for home runs or striking out the opposing lineup, the game captures the charm of retro console baseball.

How to play

The objective is to score more runs than the opposing team across nine innings. In the browser, the standard NES controls are mapped to your keyboard: use the arrow keys to aim pitches or move batters and fielders. Press Z to pitch, swing the bat, or throw to a base, and X for secondary base-running actions. Press Enter to pause.

Tips

  • Watch the pitcher’s release carefully to time your swings; patience at the plate is key to hitting line drives rather than popping out.
  • When fielding, anticipate the direction of the hit early to get your players into position before the ball lands.
