Magical Drop 2 is a fast-paced, competitive puzzle game released by Data East for the Super Famicom (SNES) in 1996. As a vibrant and highly addictive arcade port, it challenges players to clear a descending grid of colored balloons before they reach the bottom of the screen. Known for its quick gameplay and charming tarot-themed characters, it stands out as one of the most exciting puzzle games on the 16-bit console.
How to Play
The objective is to clear balloons by matching three or more of the same color in a vertical column. You control a small character at the bottom of the screen who can grab balloons from the stacks above and throw them back up into new positions. You can hold multiple balloons at once, as long as they are all the same color.
Controls: Use the Arrow Keys to move your character left and right. Press Z or X to grab balloons and pull them down. Press A or S to throw the balloons back up. Press Enter to start.
Tips
- Chain reactions are key: You can continue to grab and throw balloons even while previous matches are still popping. Keep moving and throwing to build massive combos that will bury your opponent in versus mode.
- Grab in bulk: You don’t have to grab balloons one at a time. Pull down entire columns of the same color to quickly clear space or set up a large match.
