Game description:

Locomotion is a 1992 puzzle game developed by Prestige for DOS. The game challenges you to guide a continuously moving train across a grid of sliding tiles, quickly rearranging the tracks to prevent a derailment. As you advance, the train speeds up and the grid layouts become more restrictive, demanding rapid reflexes and forward planning.

How to Play

The objective is to slide the track tiles into position to keep the train moving safely for as long as possible. Build a continuous path and avoid dead ends. The game is controlled using standard MS-DOS keyboard inputs to select and slide tiles. For full screen, press Right Alt + Enter.

Tips

  • Stay ahead of the train: Focus on building the track two or three tiles ahead of the train's current position to give yourself a safety buffer.
  • Create holding loops: If you need extra time to plan your route, try to form a closed loop of tracks. This keeps the train traveling safely in a circle while you rearrange the rest of the board.
