Game description:

Little Magic is a top-down, block-pushing puzzle game developed by Altron and released exclusively in Japan for the Super Famicom (SNES) in 1993. Players control May, a young witch-in-training navigating 100 increasingly difficult stages to pass her final magic school exam. Reminiscent of games like The Adventures of Lolo, every stage requires careful planning and positioning to succeed.

How to Play

The objective of each stage is to maneuver the magic stone onto a specific target pedestal, which opens the exit door. You cannot pull the stone, only push it. May can use her Psychic Power to push objects directly in front of her, or cast Magic Bubbles that travel across the screen to push the stone from a distance or trigger chain reactions. Use the Arrow Keys to move, Z/X/A/S to cast spells or push, and Enter to start or pause.

Tips

  • If you trap the magic stone against a wall or in a corner, you won’t be able to pull it back out. You can manually restart the stage if you get stuck.
  • Experiment with Magic Bubbles to see how they interact with different obstacles and stones; learning their exact range is key for later, more complex puzzles.
