Developed by DMA Design and released for the NES in 1992, Lemmings is an iconic puzzle-platformer that tasks players with guiding mindless, green-haired rodents through treacherous obstacle courses to safety. By assigning specific jobs to individuals, you must build paths, block hazards, and dig through terrain to reach the exit before time runs out.
How to Play
Use the D-pad to move the crosshair and select different skills from the bottom menu. Press the A button to assign the chosen skill to a lemming under the crosshair. Default browser controls map the D-pad to the arrow keys, A to Z or X, and Start to Enter.
Tips
- Assess the level while paused: Take a moment to plan your route and identify the skills you’ll need before the lemmings march into danger.
- Use Blockers to create safe zones: A well-placed Blocker will turn around marching lemmings, keeping them away from traps while you build a safe path ahead. Remember that you can blow up a Blocker later to free the path.
