Land Maker is a fast-paced isometric puzzle game released for arcades by Taito in 1998. Standing out from other competitive block-dropping games with its unique visual perspective, it tasks players with shooting colored blocks onto a grid to merge them into massive buildings. By continuously matching and destroying these structures, you clear your board and send powerful obstruction attacks to overwhelm your opponent.
How to Play
The objective is to defeat your opponent by filling their screen with blocks. You must build square structures (ranging from 2×2 to 7×7) by matching colors, then shoot a block into the front corner of the completed building to destroy it. Insert a coin with Shift and press Enter to start. Use the arrow keys to move your cursor and aim, and Z or X to shoot blocks onto the playfield.
Tips
- Go for larger buildings: Building a 5×5 or larger structure before destroying it will send a significantly stronger attack to your opponent’s screen.
- Aim for the corner: Remember that buildings are only destroyed when a block is shot directly into their front-most corner. Plan your placement carefully so you don’t block your own shot.
