Game description:

Kinnikuman: Muscle Tag Match (released in North America as M.U.S.C.L.E.) is a classic 1985 wrestling game developed by Tose for the NES. Based on the popular manga and anime series, it drops you into fast-paced 2-on-2 tag team action where you choose from a roster of eight unique wrestlers to battle it out in rapid-fire rounds.

How to Play

Use the Arrow Keys to maneuver your wrestler. Press X (A) to punch and Z (B) to jump, or press Z followed by X for a jump kick. Grapples rely on your positioning rather than complex inputs: press X while standing directly behind an opponent to perform a German Suplex, or punch them near the ropes to execute an Irish Whip.

Tips

  • Grab the Power Ball: Keep an eye out for a flashing ball that occasionally flies across the screen. Catching it allows your active wrestler to unleash their unique, high-damage special move.
  • Tag Out Often: If your current fighter is taking a beating, move to your corner and tag in your partner. Rotating your fighters is essential to surviving the short 30-second rounds.
  • Master the Suplex: Since attacks are highly dependent on where you are relative to your opponent, focus on maneuvering into the correct spot before attacking instead of just mashing the punch button.
