Kinnikuman: Muscle Tag Match is a classic 1985 wrestling game for the NES, originally released in Japan and later brought to North America as M.U.S.C.L.E.. This version features the original Japanese release fully translated into English by Stardust Crusaders. You can choose from a roster of eight distinct characters from the famous manga to compete in fast-paced two-on-two tag team matches. With simple arcade-style action and stages that range from a standard ring to an electrified cage, it remains a highly replayable pick-up-and-play fighting game.
How to Play
The objective is to deplete your opponent’s stamina by landing attacks, throwing them into the ropes, and executing wrestling moves.
- Move: Arrow keys
- Punch / Grapple: X
- Jump: Z
- Dropkick: Z, then X
- Tag Partner: Walk into your partner on the apron
To perform moves like the back body drop, press X when standing behind your opponent. You can also throw enemies into the ropes by holding a direction toward the ropes and pressing X.
Tips
- Keep an eye out for the flashing orb that occasionally floats across the ring. Grabbing it grants your active character the ability to unleash their signature super-move.
- The game operates on an endless loop that increases in difficulty after each tournament win. Swap your characters frequently to manage their stamina as opponents become more aggressive in later rounds.
