Kagakusha Harley no Haran Banjou (released in the West as Harley’s Humongous Adventure) is a 1993 action-platformer for the SNES developed by Visual Concepts. You play as Harley, a brilliant but careless scientist who has accidentally shrunk himself to the size of a bug. Set entirely within his own house, you must navigate oversized environments like the laboratory, kitchen, and bathroom to recover the scattered pieces of his shrinking machine while fending off giant insects and household hazards. The game is notable for its digitized claymation graphics.
How to Play
Your objective is to explore the house, collect the missing machine parts, and reach the exit of each stage. Use the Arrow keys to move and climb. In the browser emulator, the SNES buttons are mapped to your keyboard: press Z to jump and X to throw makeshift projectiles like marbles and rubber bands. The jetpack is a core mechanic for vertical explorationโhold S to hover, but keep an eye on your fuel gauge.
Tips
- Ammo for your projectile weapons is limited. Conserve your strongest items for tougher mutant insects and use the basic attack on weaker pests.
- Monitor your jetpack fuel carefully. Running out of fuel mid-flight over a hazard like water or a sink drain will cost you a life.
- To activate the hidden cheat menu for a stage select, press the following SNES buttons on the title screen: X, A, Y, B, R, Select, L, Up, Down, Left, Right.
