Jerry Boy (also known as Smart Ball outside Japan) is a distinctive 1991 platformer for the Super Famicom (SNES) where you play as a young boy transformed into a blue slime blob. Rather than traditional jumping attacks, you use your gelatinous form to stretch, stick to walls, and navigate through vibrant levels, collecting items and seeds to throw at enemies.
How to Play
Your objective is to guide Jerry through various platforming stages, using his slime abilities to overcome obstacles and enemies. You can climb walls and ceilings by holding the directional buttons against them.
- Movement: Arrow keys (use to stick to and climb walls)
- Jump: X key
- Action/Throw: Z key
- Start/Select: Enter / Shift
Tips
- Take advantage of your ability to stick to the ceiling; many levels hide secret paths and items above the normal view.
- When stuck to a wall, you can jump away to reach new areas or drop down safely.
- Keep an eye out for projectiles you can absorb and fire back at enemies, which is often safer than trying to dodge them in tight spaces.
