Game description:

Released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998, Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls is a unique vertical platform racer developed by Iguana Entertainment. Instead of driving vehicles on a flat track, you control spherical characters who compete to scale treacherous, cylindrical towers as fast as possible. The game blends racing mechanics with grappling hook platforming, creating a frantic scramble to the summit where you can actively sabotage your opponents along the way.

How to play

The objective is to beat three other racers to the top of each cylindrical tower course. You navigate by jumping and using a grappling hook to latch onto overhead platforms to hoist yourself up. Using standard Nintendo 64 controls in the browser, map your movement to the arrow keys, and use your main action keys (typically Z and X) to jump and fire your grapple. You can also pick up and deploy power-ups to stall your competitors.

Tips

  • Master the grapple: Relying on your grappling hook is much faster than standard jumping. Latch onto ledges from below to quickly pull yourself upward and maintain your momentum.
  • Time your attacks: Save your offensive power-ups for sections where opponents are mid-jump. Hitting them while they are airborne or grappling will cause them to fall down the tower, costing them significant time.
