Hoshi wo Sagasite… (often translated as Searching for the Stars) is a menu-based adventure game developed and published by Sega for the Sega Master System in 1988. Released exclusively in Japan, the game follows Roy, a space pilot whose attempt to buy a simple gift for his girlfriend Lila leads to the discovery of a rare, extinct species known as the “Mio”. This sets off a narrative-driven journey across multiple planets to learn about the species and find their true home, with a renowned FM soundtrack backing the adventure.

How to Play

Unlike action-heavy titles, the gameplay focuses purely on narrative and puzzle-solving through a traditional command menu. You interact with your surroundings by selecting options such as Move, Look, Talk, Take, and Item to piece together clues and progress the story.
