Game description:

Hiryū no Ken S: Hyper Version is an updated 2D fighting and beat-’em-up game released by Culture Brain for the Super Famicom (SNES) in 1992. As a revised edition of Golden Fighter (known as Ultimate Fighter in North America), it improves on the original with faster gameplay, new turbo speed settings, and increased enemy variety. Players can take on the side-scrolling Story mode to battle through stages as Rick, or compete in the VS. Tournament mode featuring a roster of 12 distinct characters.

In Story mode, you will navigate through side-scrolling brawler stages that culminate in one-on-one boss fights. For SNES games in the browser, the default controls map the D-pad to your arrow keys for movement. Use the Z and X keys for your standard attacks and jumps (mapping to the A and B buttons), and Enter or Shift for Start and Select. During one-on-one bouts, look for the series’ signature target markers on your opponent to strike their weak points.

Take advantage of the new turbo speed options if the standard combat feels too slow. In the side-scrolling sections, focus on crowd control and keep enemies on one side of the screen, saving your special attacks for tougher groups or the one-on-one boss encounters.
