Happy Birthday Bugs (Japan) is a 1990 platformer developed by Kemco for the NES. Known as The Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout in North America, the game follows Bugs on his way to his 50th birthday party. The uninvited Looney Tunes castโincluding Sylvester, Tweety, and the Tasmanian Devilโtry to stop him by laying traps and blocking his path through various side-scrolling stages.
How to Play
Your objective is to reach the end of each stage and defeat the rival boss characters using your trusty mallet. For the NES browser emulator, movement is mapped to the arrow keys. Press Z to jump and X to swing your mallet, which can be used to bop enemies or deflect certain projectiles. Use Enter to start the game.
Tips
- Your mallet is versatile: you can use it to hit falling blocks or bombs to launch them at enemies.
- Collect carrots scattered throughout the levels. At the end of each stage, you can use them to play a bingo minigame for extra lives.
- You can ride on the bubbles blown by some enemies to reach higher platforms and hidden areas.
