Hanjuku Hero is a real-time strategy RPG developed by Square, released exclusively for the Famicom (NES) in 1988. As the debut entry in the lighthearted series, players command an army of generals to capture enemy castles, using a unique combat system where you summon powerful Egg Monsters to fight on your behalf.
How to play: Your objective is to conquer all enemy fortresses on the map before they can take your home castle. Move your generals around the overworld in real time, and when they collide with an enemy, combat switches to a side-view auto-battler. Use your limited egg charges wisely to summon monsters for tough fights. In the browser, the NES controls map to the arrow keys for movement, Z and X for the A and B buttons, and Enter and Shift for Start and Select.
Tips: Keep an eye on the in-game calendar, as new months bring income from your captured castles that you need to pay your troops. Don’t waste your egg summons on weak enemies, as the monsters inside degrade in power each time you use them until the egg is restored.
