Game description:

Great Deal (Japan) is a unique falling-block puzzle game released for the NES in 1991 by Hect. Instead of the traditional geometric shapes, this Japan-exclusive title tasks players with managing standard playing cards that drop into a 5×5 grid. The goal is to arrange these cards into valid combinationsโ€”such as three of a kind, flushes, or straightsโ€”to clear them from the board and rack up your ANTE score.

How to Play

As cards fall from the top of the screen, you must position them strategically in the grid to form winning poker hands before they stack to the top. Once a valid hand is created, those cards disappear. For the NES controls in your browser, use the Arrow Keys to move the falling cards, the Z and X keys to manipulate them, and Enter to start the game.

Tips

Focus on setting up simple, reliable matches like three of a kind early on to keep the board clear. As the speed increases, trying to build complex straights or full houses can quickly lead to the grid filling up, so prioritize clearing space over chasing high-value hands.
