Game description:

Gorby no Pipeline Daisakusen is a 1991 falling-block puzzle game developed by Compile for the NES. Featuring a lighthearted premise centered around Mikhail Gorbachev, your goal is to strengthen Japan-Soviet relations by constructing a water pipeline between Moscow and Tokyo. The game blends pipe-laying mechanics with the fast-paced pressure of guiding falling blocks into place.

How to Play

Your objective is to create a continuous pipeline that spans from one side of the board to the other. Guide the falling pipe segments using the Arrow keys (D-pad) to move them left and right, and press Z or X (A/B buttons) to rotate them. Press Enter to Start. When you successfully complete a pipeline connection across the screen, the sections below it will collapse, clearing space so you can continue building.

Tips

  • Plan for rotation space: Just like other falling-block games, pipe pieces need empty space to rotate. Avoid placing blocks too close to walls or tall stacks if you need to turn them.
  • Build evenly: Try not to stack pieces too high in the center of the board, as this will block falling pipes from reaching the edges where you might desperately need them to finish your connection.
