Ghoul Patrol is the 1994 run-and-gun sequel to LucasArts’ Zombies Ate My Neighbors, released on the Super Nintendo. Players once again take control of teenagers Zeke and Julie, this time battling through historical eras to stop a demonic entity named Lord Bael. Retaining the top-down perspective of the original, it adds new mechanics like jumping and sliding while you rescue townsfolk and fight off an army of historical horror monsters.
How to play
Your objective is to rescue all surviving victims in each stage to spawn the exit portal. Control your character using the arrow keys to move. Use Z, X, A, and S (mapped to the SNES action buttons) to shoot your weapon, jump over obstacles, slide away from attacks, and cycle your inventory. Press Enter (Start) to pause or access your items.
Tips
- Conserve ammo: Resource management is vital. Save your powerful weapons for bosses and large groups, and rely on your starting crossbow whenever possible.
- Use the slide: The newly added slide mechanic is incredibly useful for dodging enemy projectiles and escaping tight corners when overwhelmed by monsters.
