Gdleen (Japan) (Rev A) is a sci-fi role-playing game developed by Jorudan and released by SETA in 1991. As the first original RPG for the Super Famicom, the game follows Ryu, a spacecraft captain who crash-lands on a mechanical world that is actually a massive constructed spaceship. Accompanied by a fairy named Fana, you explore the planet, navigate dungeons, and uncover an ancient intergalactic conflict while searching for a way home.
How to play
The game uses a traditional, turn-based battle system presented from a first-person perspective. You travel across world maps and through dungeons, engaging enemies as you progress. Use the D-pad to move, the A button to confirm actions or interact, the B button to cancel, and Start to open your menu. In the browser emulator, these are mapped to your arrow keys, Z/X, and Enter.
Tips
- Take advantage of the consultation system during battles; talking to certain enemies allows you to recruit them as allies for your party.
- The final stages require significant backtracking, so keep track of previously visited areas where key weapons and orbs might be hidden.
