Released in Australia in 2000, Game Boy Gallery 4 is the regional title for Nintendo’s acclaimed Game & Watch Gallery 3. This Game Boy Color collection brings together five classic LCD handheld titles: Egg, Greenhouse, Turtle Bridge, Mario Bros., and Donkey Kong Jr. Each title includes the authentic 1980s “Classic” mode as well as a revamped “Modern” mode featuring updated graphics, new gameplay mechanics, and characters from the Mario universe.
How to Play
Your objective in each game is to survive as long as possible and earn a high score without accumulating three misses. The controls are standard for the Game Boy Color: use the Arrow Keys (D-pad) to move, Z / X (A/B buttons) to perform actions like jumping or tossing, and Enter / Shift (Start/Select) to pause or switch game modes.
Tips
- Earn stars to unlock content: You earn a star for every 200 points scored in a game, up to 1,000 points. Collecting stars unlocks the hidden game Judge, sound tests, and gallery exhibits.
- Learn Modern mode changes: The Modern versions aren’t just visual upgrades. Look out for new mechanics, such as Yoshi offering help or different item patterns, which require different strategies than the Classic modes.
