Game description:

Galactic Crusader is an unlicensed vertical shoot ’em up developed by Joy Van and published by Sachen for the NES in 1990. Often compared to classics like Galaga and Star Force, this top-down space shooter puts you in control of a heavily armed ship fighting through waves of alien enemies. It is known for its distinct multi-stage boss encounters and challenging enemy mechanics.

How to Play

The objective is to survive the scrolling stages, blast incoming enemy formations, and defeat the boss at the end of each level. For the NES controls in the browser, use the Arrow Keys to pilot your ship, the Z and X keys for your primary fire and weapons (acting as the A and B buttons), and Enter to start the game.

Tips

  • Be cautious when destroying certain enemies, as they can release fast-moving shrapnel that is difficult to dodge at close range.
  • Focus on learning the movement patterns of the end-level bosses, as they often require multiple direct hits and careful maneuvering to defeat.
