Developed by Kalisto and released for DOS in 1993, Fury of the Furries is a puzzle-platformer where you navigate complex stages by shifting between four elemental forms. Rather than relying purely on reflexes, the game leans heavily into routing and environmental problem-solving, requiring you to use the right ability at the right time to survive.
How to play
You control a “Tiny” that can swap between four colors, each with a unique skill: Yellow shoots fireballs, Red eats through rock and earth, Green swings from a grappling hook, and Blue can dive underwater to shoot bubbles. Move with the Arrow Keys (Up to jump), and use your current form’s ability with the Spacebar. To change forms, press Down while standing still to open the menu, use Left/Right to select a color, and press Down again to confirm.
Tips
- The Green form’s grappling hook is physics-based. You can adjust your swing momentum by moving left or right while attached to the ceiling.
- Don’t rush. The game is built around timing rather than speed, and a mistimed jump or using the wrong form will quickly cost you a life.
- The Red form can only eat through specific blocks; look for softer, destructible terrain that stands out from the solid walls.
