Forsaken 64 (Germany) is a tense, 360-degree 3D shooter for the Nintendo 64, released in 1998. Developed by Iguana UK, this “six degrees of freedom” action game plays similarly to Descent, challenging you to pilot a hoverbike through labyrinthine, gravity-defying corridors. Known for its challenging physics, atmospheric lighting, and fast-paced multiplayer deathmatches, it requires tight navigation as enemies can attack from any conceivable angle.
How to Play
Your objective is to explore intricate tunnels, destroy robotic enemies, collect powerful weapon upgrades, and eliminate the core reactor in each level before escaping. By default, use the N64 analog stick to pitch and turn your hoverbike, while the C-buttons control your strafing and vertical movement. Press Z to fire your primary weapons and R for secondary missiles. In the browser emulator, these are mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys and standard action keys.
Tips
- Mastering the strafe controls is essential. Keep moving laterally and vertically while facing your target to circle-strafe and dodge incoming fire.
- Save your heavy and homing weapons, like the Suss-Gun or Titan missiles, for faster enemies that are difficult to hit with standard lasers.
- If you lose your bearings in the complex tunnels, follow the color-coded lighting cues to reorient yourself toward the next objective.
