Game description:

Flying Hero is an action game released for the Famicom in 1989 by Aicom. A unique twist on the Breakout formula, the game puts you in charge of a firefighting team equipped with a rescue trampoline. Instead of bouncing a ball to break bricks, you launch a courageous firefighter upward to extinguish blazing windows, rescue stranded civilians, and grab helpful items. Though an English localization titled Blazebusters was planned, it was ultimately canceled, leaving this creative arcade-style title as a Japan-exclusive.

How to Play

Your main objective is to clear all fires on each stage while rescuing as many people as possible. You control the two firefighters holding the trampoline at the bottom of the screen. Move them left and right to keep the bouncing firefighter airborne; if he hits the ground, you lose a life.

Browser Controls:

  • Movement: Arrow Keys
  • A / B: Z / X
  • Start / Select: Enter / Shift

Tips

  • Safety first: Always prioritize catching your falling firefighter over grabbing falling power-ups. A missed item is harmless, but a dropped firefighter costs a life.
  • Watch for hazards: Be careful of birds and other flying obstacles that can unexpectedly change your firefighter's trajectory in mid-air.
  • Angle your bounce: Just like in a traditional block-breaking game, catching the firefighter on the edges of the trampoline will send him flying off at sharper angles.
