Fire Trap is a 1986 arcade action game developed by Woodplace and published by Data East. As a brave firefighter, your mission is to scale the exterior of a burning skyscraper to rescue civilians and pets trapped in the windows. Inspired by Crazy Climber, you must carefully navigate the building’s facade while dodging falling debris, fireballs, and other hazards to reach the roof.

How to Play

Your objective is to climb to the top of the building, rescuing survivors along the way, before extinguishing remaining fires during your jetpack descent. In the browser, use the Arrow keys to move your firefighter. Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start. Use Z and X to fire your extinguisher upward to put out fires or deflect falling objects.

Tips

• Conserve water: Your extinguisher has limited capacity. Only use it when necessary to clear a path or deal with immediate threats, and look for water refill power-ups in the windows.
• Deflect debris: Falling objects like furniture and cars can be dodged, but you can also shoot them with your water stream to deflect them out of your way.
• Grab power-ups: Watch the windows for special items. The rocket power-up will instantly boost you up three stories, while the triple-stream extinguisher provides much better coverage against hazards.
