Famicom Tantei Club: Kieta Koukeisha – Kouhen is the second half of Nintendo’s landmark 1988 graphic adventure game for the Famicom Disk System. Picking up where the first disk left off, players continue their role as an amnesiac detective trying to solve the murder of a wealthy family’s matriarch while uncovering their own lost memories.
How to Play
The game progresses through a menu-driven interface where you investigate crime scenes and question suspects. You must choose commands like Ask, Examine, and Take to gather clues and advance the narrative. Because this is the Kouhen (Part 2) disk, it is designed to be played after completing the Zenpen (Part 1) disk. Use the D-pad (arrow keys) to move the cursor, press A (Z key) to confirm actions, and press B (X key) to cancel.
Tips
- Examine the same area twice: If the story is not advancing, try using the Examine command on a location or object multiple times, which often triggers new observations.
- Exhaust all dialogue: Characters may withhold information until you have asked them about every available topic or presented specific evidence.
