Euro Football Champ is the European Super Nintendo release of Taito’s 1992 soccer conversion, known as Hat Trick Hero in Japan and Super Soccer Champ in North America. Developed by Taito and published in Europe by Domark, it puts you in charge of one of eight national teams — Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and the USA — as you pick a star player and fight through a knockout tournament for the title.
How to Play
Your goal is to win match after match and lift the trophy; there’s no penalty shootout here, so a draw ends your run on the spot. Move your selected player with the D-pad, and use the action buttons to pass, shoot, and challenge for the ball with tackles and shoulder charges.

Tips
- Play the referee, not just the ball: he doesn’t watch every player. If he’s out of position or knocked to the ground, you can get away with a shoulder charge, trip, or even a punch to win back the ball without conceding a foul.
- Save the Super Shot for crunch time: tied or down by a single goal with 30 seconds left, your star player can unleash a shot with enough force to knock the goalkeeper into the stands — a genuine last-gasp equalizer or winner.
- Never settle for a draw: since a tied match ends your tournament run on the spot, keep pushing for the win rather than playing it safe as the clock runs down.
