Released for the Atari 2600 in 1982 by U.S. Games, Entombed is a fast-paced action maze game where you must navigate a continuous, downward-scrolling labyrinth. The screen constantly pushes you forward, and if you get trapped at the top, the game is over. You must react quickly to find the correct path before the screen catches up to you.
How to play
Your objective is to survive as long as possible as the maze speed increases. Use the arrow keys (Player 1) or T/F/G/H (Player 2) to move. If you hit a dead end, press the Spacebar (Player 1) or A (Player 2) to use a “make-break” item, allowing you to smash through a wall and escape. Press F11 to select the game mode and F12 to reset.
Tips
Collect the blinking squares scattered throughout the maze to replenish your make-break items. Save these items for absolute emergencies, as the maze will eventually speed up to a point where quick reactions alone aren’t enough to avoid dead ends.
