Eevee Bros. is a 2022 graphical ROM hack by KK Hell for the NES that modifies the classic arcade-style gameplay of Mario Bros. In this fun twist on the original platformer, player characters are swapped out for the beloved Pokรฉmon: you play as Eevee instead of Mario, while the second player controls a shiny Eevee in place of Luigi. Along with edited in-game text to match the new stars, the game retains the iconic single-screen action of clearing pipes of pests.
How to Play
Your objective is to clear each phase of enemies emerging from the pipes. Use the Arrow Keys to move your Eevee left and right, and press Z to jump. To defeat enemies, you cannot jump on them directlyโinstead, jump and hit the floor directly beneath them to flip them over, then run into them to kick them away. Press Enter to start the game.
Tips
- Enemies will recover and move faster if left flipped on their backs too long, so kick them away quickly.
- The POW block in the center of the stage will bump all platforms at once when hit from below, flipping any grounded enemiesโsave it for emergencies!
- Watch out for Fireballs that bounce or float across the stage; you can’t defeat them, so you must carefully dodge them while clearing enemies.
