Dragon Power is an overhead action game released for the NES in 1988, notable for being a heavily localized version of the Japanese release Dragon Ball: Shenron no Nazo. Because the anime was largely unknown in North America at the time, publisher Bandai stripped the game of its Dragon Ball licensing, altering character sprites, names, and dialogue to hide its origins.
How to Play
You guide your martial artist through top-down stages to defeat enemies, collect power-up capsules, and gather mystical crystal balls, with occasional side-scrolling encounters breaking up the action. Use the arrow keys to move, Z to attack, X to jump, and Enter to start or pause.
Tips
- Your health meter constantly drains over time, acting as a strict time limit. Prioritize finding food over defeating every enemy.
- Conserve your powerful ranged attacks for boss encounters, as using them consumes a portion of your health.
