Game description:

Developed by Konami in 1991, Crisis Force is a technically phenomenal vertical shoot-’em-up for the NES that pushes the 8-bit hardware to its absolute limits. Originally released exclusively in Japan, it stands out for its intense arcade-style action, massive multi-jointed bosses, and impressive parallax scrolling that rivals early 16-bit titles. You control an advanced fighter craft tasked with defending Earth from an ancient alien civilization from Atlantis.

How to Play

Navigate through seven relentless stages, dodging enemy fire and destroying incoming waves to survive. You can morph your ship into three distinct configurations on the fly to adapt to different threats. Use the Arrow Keys to move, press Z to fire your weapons, and press X to change your ship’s transformation mode. Press Enter to start.

Tips

  • Your ship’s three forms (Front-Shooter, Side-Shooter, and Rear-Shooter) each have different speed and firing patterns. Switch to the Side or Rear forms when enemies ambush you from the edges or from behind.
  • Collecting blue orbs allows you to power up a massive temporary super-ship, which grants invincibility and devastating firepower for a short time. Save this transformation for tough sections or boss encounters!
