In Crazy Climber, a 1980 action arcade hit by Nichibutsu ported to the Atari 2600, you scale the sides of increasingly dangerous skyscrapers. To reach the top and hitch a ride on the waiting helicopter, you must navigate around closing windows and dodge a bizarre assortment of hazards falling from above, ranging from flower pots and dumbbells to a giant egg-dropping condor.
How to play
Your objective is to climb to the roof of the building without falling. Time your movements carefully to avoid having your fingers smashed by closing windows, and dodge objects dropped from the floors above.
- Move: Arrow keys
- Action: Spacebar
- Select / Reset: F11 / F12
Tips
- Watch the windows carefully; they will often give a visual cue before closing. Don’t linger on a closing window or you will lose your grip.
- Sometimes it is safer to move laterally to avoid a barrage of falling objects rather than trying to push straight up.
