In 1993, Virgin Games transformed a soda mascot into the star of his own SNES platformer, Cool Spot. You guide the sunglass-wearing 7 Up icon across large, detailed levels—from sunny beaches to toy-filled rooms—throwing fizzy soda bubbles to defeat enemies. Your main objective in every stage is to explore the sprawling layouts, collect enough smaller red spots to meet the stage’s quota, and find the cage to rescue one of your captive Spot friends.

How to Play

To clear a level, you must collect a minimum percentage of the red spots scattered around the environment before the timer runs out, then locate and shoot the lock off the cage holding your friend. Use the arrow keys to move Spot, press X to jump, and press Z to shoot soda bubbles in any direction. Press Enter to pause the game.

Tips

Your bubble attacks can be fired in eight directions; aim diagonally to deal with enemies positioned above or below you on slopes. Take the time to explore off the beaten path, as collecting 85% of the spots in a level grants access to the letter-collecting bonus stage, and grabbing 100% earns you an extra life.
