🎮 Play Commando Raid Online (Atari 2600)

Commando Raid is an action shooter developed by U.S. Games for the Atari 2600 in 1982. You command a gun emplacement at the foot of the screen while helicopters stream in from the sides, dropping paratroopers above you. Your goal is simple and relentless: pick them off before they reach the ground — if the commandos infiltrate in large enough numbers, the raid succeeds and the game is over.

How to Play

Slide your cannon left and right beneath the incoming waves, then fire upward to intercept. Player 1 moves with the arrow keys and fires with Spacebar; Player 2 uses T/G/F/H to move and A to fire. Both players have a turbo trigger — Del for Player 1, . for Player 2. Press F11 to cycle through game variations (difficulty and speed), F12 to reset, and Alt+P to pause.

Tips

• Prioritise the helicopters when you can — destroying an aircraft stops multiple paratroopers from spawning at once.
• Low commandos are more dangerous than high ones; shift across to intercept anyone close to landing rather than chasing easy shots at altitude.
• Cycle up the game variation with F11 once incoming waves feel manageable — later settings raise speed and keep the pressure on.
