🎮 Play Combatribes, The (Japan) Online (SNES)

The Combatribes is a classic 1992 side-scrolling beat ’em up for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), developed by Technos Japan. You play as one of three cyborg vigilantes—Blitz, Bulova, or Berzerker—tasked with cleaning up the crime-ridden streets of New York City by fighting through waves of eccentric gang members.

How to Play

The objective is to defeat all enemies in each area to progress and ultimately take down the gang leader at the end of the stage. The game features a variety of satisfying combat moves, including grabbing enemies, throwing them, and slamming their heads together. For the SNES emulator in the browser, use the Arrow Keys for movement, Z and X for basic attacks and jumps, and Enter/Shift for Start and Select.

Tips

Unlike many other beat ’em ups of the era, you can continue to strike enemies even after they have been knocked down to the ground. Use this to your advantage to deal extra damage before they get back up. Additionally, focus on using grab attacks when surrounded, as throwing an enemy into a crowd is an effective way to clear out multiple threats at once.
