College Slam brings the over-the-top, 2-on-2 arcade basketball action of NBA Jam to the collegiate level. Developed by Iguana Entertainment and released in 1996 for the Super Nintendo (SNES), this high-flying sports game features over 40 major college teams and introduces unique on-court power-ups to a classic formula of gravity-defying dunks and fast-break gameplay.
How to Play
The objective is to outscore your opponent in high-energy basketball matches with no fouls and plenty of shoving. In the browser emulator, the default SNES controls map the D-pad to your keyboard’s arrow keys for movement. Press Z to pass the ball or steal on defense, and X to shoot, block, or jump. Use the Enter key to start or pause the game.
Tips
- Just like in NBA Jam, scoring three consecutive baskets with the same player puts them “on fire”, granting unlimited turbo and incredible accuracy until the opposing team scores a basket.
- Take advantage of the new power-up icons that appear on the court. Collecting them can grant game-changing abilities like super strength, invisibility, or whirlwind speed.
