Clu Clu Land is a classic arcade-style puzzle maze game developed and published by Nintendo for the NES in 1984. You play as a balloon-like fish named Bubbles, navigating an underwater grid to uncover hidden gold ingots before time runs out. The game’s unique movement system—where you constantly move forward and can only change direction by grabbing poles—sets it apart from typical maze titles of the era.

How to play

Your objective is to uncover all the gold ingots in each stage to form a picture outline. Bubbles moves automatically; use the Arrow keys to stick a hand out and grab an adjacent pole, swinging around it to turn. Pressing X fires a sound wave to stun the Sea Urchin enemies (Unira). Pushing a stunned enemy against a wall eliminates it. Start the game using Enter and navigate menus with Shift.

Tips

Watch out for rubber bands strung between some poles, which will bounce you back and disrupt your path.
You can reverse your swing direction mid-turn by pressing the arrow key opposite to your current swing.
Prioritize stunning and clearing out Sea Urchins in crowded areas before focusing on uncovering the pattern.
