Game description:

Clay Fighter: Tournament Edition is a 1994 fighting game for the SNES developed by Visual Concepts and published by Interplay. It serves as an enhanced version of the original claymation brawler, featuring rebalanced character rosters, new stages, and a comprehensive tournament mode. Players can choose from a bizarre cast of fighters constructed entirely from clay—such as Bad Mr. Frosty, Blue Suede Goo, and the shapeshifting Blob—as they battle through a humorous, stop-motion parody of traditional fighting games.

How to Play

The objective is to deplete your opponent’s health bar in a best-of-three martial arts match. Movement and jumping are handled with the D-pad, while attacks use a standard six-button layout for light, medium, and fierce punches and kicks. Special moves are performed with rolling directional inputs combined with attack buttons. In your browser, these map to the arrow keys and your chosen keyboard configuration.

Tips

  • Each character has unique special moves. For example, Bad Mr. Frosty can throw snowballs or transform into an ice boulder to ram opponents.
  • Tournament Edition tightened the combo system from the original game, making consecutive hits more reliable if your timing is accurate.
  • If you find the default speed too sluggish, you can increase the game’s speed in the options menu for a much faster-paced fight.
