Chubby Cherub is a side-scrolling action game released for the NES in 1986. Originally adapted from a Japanese manga license, you play as a flying cupid on a mission to rescue his friends. You must navigate through neighborhood stages while avoiding or fighting off aggressive bulldogs, cats, and birds.
How to Play
The objective is to reach the end of each stage before your flight gauge depletes. You can walk on the ground or take to the air, but flying actively consumes your power meter. You must constantly eat scattered food items like fruit and candy to keep your flight gauge filled.
Controls: Use the Arrow Keys to move and fly. Press Z to jump or take off, and X to fire love hearts at enemies. Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Stay airborne as much as possible to avoid ground-level hazards like bulldogs, but watch your flight gauge closely.
- Memorize the locations of food items. Missing too many sweets will drain your flight power and force you to the ground, where you are much more vulnerable to attacks.
