Released for the Sega Master System in 1985, Choplifter is a classic action game where you pilot a combat helicopter behind enemy lines. Originally created by Dan Gorlin and adapted by Sega, this version tasks you with infiltrating hostile territory to rescue prisoners of war while fending off relentless tanks, fighter jets, and anti-aircraft fire.
How to Play
Your objective is to locate the POW camps, blast them open, and safely transport the hostages back to your base. You must manage your vehicle carefully and avoid crushing the fleeing prisoners when landing.
- Move Helicopter: Arrow Keys
- Shoot: Z
- Turn Helicopter: X
- Start/Pause: Enter
Tips
- Your helicopter can only carry a limited number of hostages at a time, so you will need to make multiple trips back to base to complete a level.
- When enemy jets appear, turn to face the screen (using the X key) so you can shoot them down, or quickly change your altitude to dodge their fire.
- Land carefully near the hostages; descending too quickly or landing directly on them will result in casualties.
