Chess Academy is an unlicensed chess simulation developed for the Famicom (NES) in Asia. Bringing classic 8-bit board strategy directly to the console, the game allows players to test their tactical skills against computer opponents on an interactive chessboard.
How to Play
Position your pieces and maneuver across the board to checkmate the enemy king while protecting your own pieces from capture.
- D-Pad / Arrow Keys: Move the cursor across the chessboard
- A / Z Key: Select a piece or confirm your target square
- B / X Key: Deselect a piece or cancel a movement
- Start / Enter Key: Confirm game options or start the match
Chess Strategy Tips
- Control the Center: Move your central pawns (e4/d4) early to claim control over key squares and give your bishops and queen room to maneuver.
- Develop Minor Pieces: Bring out your knights and bishops into active squares before launching deep attacks into opponent territory.
