Game description:

Champion Billiards is a cue-sports simulation developed by Compile for the Sega SG-1000, released in 1986. One of the earliest pool games on a home console, it brings the fundamentals — aiming the cue, judging angles, and sinking balls — to Sega’s first piece of living-room hardware.

How to play

Use the D-pad to aim and navigate menus. Z (Button A) confirms a shot or selection; X (Button B) adjusts or cancels. Press Enter (Start) to begin. The object is to pocket balls with the cue ball, working through the billiards variant the game presents — patience with the angle pays off.

Where it came from

The SG-1000 was Sega’s first home console, released in Japan on the same day as Nintendo’s Famicom and built on the TMS9918 video chip common to several early-eighties machines. Everything here runs client-side: the emulator, the ROM, and your save states.
