Captain Saver is a 1992 action-platformer developed by Natsume and published by Taito for the NES. Released in Japan, it is the original version of the North American title Power Blade 2. Players control the protagonist Nova, battling through a series of futuristic stages using a multidirectional boomerang. The game allows you to choose the order of stages and introduces collectible Power Suits that grant unique abilities to overcome obstacles.
How to play
Your objective is to clear each stage and defeat the boss at the end. In the browser, the default NES controls are mapped to your keyboard: use the arrow keys to move, X to jump (A button), Z to attack with your boomerang (B button), and Enter for Start.
Tips
- Experiment with the different Power Suits you find; their unique capabilities are often the key to exploiting boss weaknesses.
- Use your slide move to quickly dodge enemy projectiles and navigate under low hazards.
