Released in 1990 by Hect exclusively in Japan, Cadillac is a falling-block puzzle game for the NES (Famicom) that blends spatial mechanics with the rules of poker. Originally based on the arcade title Gun Dealer, the game challenges players to organize playing cards as they drop into a grid, aiming to build high-scoring hands.
How to Play
Cards fall continuously onto a 5×5 grid. Your objective is to arrange them to form valid poker handsโsuch as a Flush, Straight, or Three-of-a-Kindโeither vertically or horizontally. When a hand is formed, those cards are cleared, earning you money. To clear a level, you must reach a specific monetary target before the grid fills up. Default NES controls apply: use the D-pad (arrow keys) to steer falling cards, A or B (Z or X) to manipulate them, and Start (Enter) to begin or pause.
Tips
Try to set up intersecting hands; placing a card that completes a horizontal hand might also finish a vertical one, clearing massive amounts of space at once. Always keep an eye on the upcoming card preview so you can plan your drops effectively and avoid blocking critical columns.
