Game description:

Bombuzal is a challenging isometric puzzle game released for the SNES in 1990, where you control a bug-eyed creature tasked with safely detonating all the explosives on floating grid-like stages. The gameplay requires careful planning to set off bombs in the correct sequence or through chain reactions, ensuring you have a safe path to avoid the blast radius and complete the level.

The objective is to clear every bomb on the board without getting caught in an explosion or falling off the edge. You can move Bombuzal using the D-pad (mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys), and use the SNES action buttons (Z and X) to ignite bombs or place them on different tiles. Some bombs can be moved, allowing you to set up the perfect chain reaction.

Tips

  • Observe the bomb sizes: Large bombs create wider explosions than small ones. Use them strategically to trigger distant explosives across gaps.
  • Mind your footing: Cracked tiles will break after you step on them. Plan your route so you don’t trap yourself or fall into the void.
  • Survey the stage: There is no time limit. Take a moment to view the entire layout and plan your escape path before lighting the first fuse.
