The Black Bass, released for the NES in 1988, is an early and influential fishing simulator. Developed by Hot-B, the game challenges you to catch as many black bass as possible from sunrise to sunset. How to play
The objective is to catch the largest total weight of black bass before the day ends. Use the D-pad (arrow keys) to navigate the map, select your fishing spot, and aim your cast. Press A (Z) to cast your line and reel it in. Once a fish bites, use A to reel, but watch the line tensionโrelease the button when the fish struggles or the line will break.
Tips
Pay attention to the color of the lures; different weather conditions and times of day make certain colors more attractive to the fish. If you are not getting bites, try moving to a different spot on the lake rather than staying in one empty area.
