Capcom released this platformer on DOS in 1987. Capcom had a strong arcade pedigree by this point, and its console work borrowed the same approach to difficulty.
The game itself
The layouts reward memory — where the platforms move, when the enemies turn, which drops are survivable. Most of the difficulty sits in the platforming itself: gaps, moving surfaces and enemies placed exactly where a careless jump lands.
On DOS
The DOS era spans CGA to VGA and PC speaker to Sound Blaster, and games from either end of it look nothing alike.
