Developed by Konami in 1993, Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa is a whimsical action-platformer for the NES where you play as a heroic baby prince. Armed with a magical rattle, you must navigate through creative worlds made of candy and computer circuitry to save your kingdom from an evil spirit.
How to Play
Your main objective is to platform through seven worlds and defeat bosses. The core mechanic is Upa’s rattle: hitting an enemy inflates them into a floating balloon that you can jump on to reach higher platforms, or headbutt horizontally to use as a projectile weapon. Use the D-pad to move, A to jump, and B to attack. In the browser emulator, these are mapped to your arrow keys, with Z and X acting as the B and A buttons, and Enter/Shift for Start/Select.
Tips
- Watch the timer: Inflated enemies only stay afloat for a few seconds before popping, so move quickly when using them as platforms.
- Mind the ricochet: Launched enemies will bounce off solid walls. Be careful not to stand in their path, as they will damage Upa on the rebound.
